I hold a current CERTIFIED FITNESS TRAINER certification (#123166) with the nationally recognized International Sports Sciences Association, CPR certification with the Care Plus Medic First Aid International Corporation (#42135), and have been training clients for twelve years. During this time, I have worked with extremely diverse populations including many people who wanted to lose fat and increase muscle mass for health and appearance. I received certificates of achievement in: Kinetic Anatomy, Core Conditioning, Coaching Skills, and Healthy Body Image and Nutrition for Adolescents.
I also have been a practicing CERTIFIED FITNESS THERAPIST (#182645, ISSA) for five years. This newly emerging specialization allows me to collaborate with my clients’ other health care professionals especially in instances where exercise and/or physical therapy are actual prescriptions to treat somatic conditions. I received certificates of achievement in Personal Training for Seniors, Exercise and Multiple Sclerosis, and Pre- Natal and Post- Partum Fitness. I have also researched and worked with clients dealing with asthma, surgical rehabilitation, degenerative bone disease, fibromyalgia, and breast cancer. It has become one of my favorite things to introduce people to a fitness lifestyle who thought they were denied a fit body because perceived physical limitations.

I have been a CERTIFIED MASSAGE THERAPIST (#1385, JUST FOR YOUR HEALTH) for ten years and have an extensive understanding of body mechanics and imbalance assessment. Information gleaned from training a client allows me to achieve more focused and effective results from his or her massage. I use the massage time with my clients not only as a relaxation period for them, but also as a chance to address problems that haven’t been sufficiently corrected using other methods.
Finally, I have rounded out my education by completing my Masters Degree in Psychology with a somatic focus. Recently, professional sports franchises and fitness buffs alike have been starting to realize the value of bringing the brain into play in training. From visualizations to relaxation techniques, concentration increases effectiveness. But often there are also barriers to fitness program compliance that can be addressed, leading to success in terms of reaching goals whether they be in inches lost, seconds trimmed, or strength gains.
I have always been an athlete. I was a competitive runner for fifteen years, a professional dancer, and a religious cross trainer. I find my experiential knowledge of fitness to be a crucial component in working with my clients.
